Creating collage cards and the waking dream

The last question asked of us in dream-work is what will the action be?  How can I honor this personal revelation I have received? In so doing, I am not only honoring my own process, but bringing my dream as a gift to the world and inviting more in-depth dreaming and daring and robust action.

After completing a card daydream I have titled Blank eyed King, I answer and honor this last question by writing this post about how we all have a royal lineage and how taking good action is a way in which to honor the throngs of explorers and lovers and artists who were our forerunners and realize we now are in that position, forerunners for the next generations and in order to lay out a true course we need to lay out and tell the truth no matter the incomplete of uncomfortable implications. We stand tall in front of our familial lines, whether we’d like to or not, this is our position.

Where to begin?  Everyday choose an old way in order to link this knowing, go for a hike or walk without a phone, say a prayer for yourself, those you love, the day.  Do something skillful with your hands and a tool from before electronic (paintbrush, knitting needle, hand saw, ax, screwdriver, wooden spoon).  Think of that person, whomever he or she might have been who taught you most about good living—in most cases it wasn’t Gandhi, but perhaps a grandparent, family member or a dear friend. Find a way to pass this wisdom on.
